Come and explore the wonders of our region on a walk dedicated to the discovery of our natural and architectural heritage, organised by the Maison de la Pierre sèche et du Causse.

This walk will take you to the magnificent hillsides of Daglan, where you’ll have the chance to admire the superb orchids that bloom in season, as well as other species typical of the Causse. You’ll be amazed by the floral diversity and the beauty of the landscape, while learning about the unique ecosystem of our region.

During this exploration, you will also learn about the geology of the causse, a fascinating subject that reveals the history of our land and its impact on the local flora and fauna. You’ll discover how geological formation has shaped the landscape and contributed to the richness of our natural heritage.

Come and explore the magnificent landscapes and biodiversity of the Daglan hillsides on our organised walks, led by passionate specialists. Take advantage of several excursions throughout the season, from June to September!

1. Cabanes hike

• When: Every Wednesday morning from June to September
• Time: 10am to 12pm
• Duration : 2 hours (approx. 4 km)
• Bookings required on: 05 53 29 88 84 (book by 5pm on the previous Tuesday)
• Theme: Geology of the Causse des Coteaux du Céou

2. Geology and landscapes excursion

• Duration: 3 hours
• Departure : La Roque Gageac
• Arrival : Daglan
• Car pooling: Obligatory
• Participants: 12 maximum, on registration

• Description: Discover the impact of geology on the variation of landscapes between the cliffs of the Dordogne Valley and the hillsides of the Céou Valley.

3. Walk: The Plants and Flowers of the Causse

• Duration: 3 hours
• Route: On foot from the village of Daglan

• Description: Set off with a flora specialist to learn more about the biodiversity of the Céou hillsides and how to identify plants, with local anecdotes.

4. Orchids and Causse plants walk

• Duration: 3 hours
• Route: On foot (approach by car necessary)
• Free

• Description: Accompanied by members of the Société d’Orchidophilie, discover the orchids and other typical species of the Causse during the flowering season.
